ASEZ WAO Proceeds the Reduce Plastic Use Campaign

In May 2019, the members of the ASEZ WAO World Mission Society Church of God Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group who are spending their busy days in their workplaces are developing campaigns and cleaning up activities in densely populated areas, including areas with floating population to acknowledge the seriousness of plastic use that is threatening the Earth.

Kim Jungsik, the head of Michuhol-gu, Incheon, saw the ASEZ WAO members cleaning up the whole area of Inha Culture Street in Michuhol-gu, Incheon and said, “The young people’s active participation for community problems have given a great help to make Michuhol-gu a happy place.” Meanwhile, the Party concerned for Mokpo city encouraged by saying, “It is not easy for the young adult workers to proceed volunteer works during their days off and they’re doing a great work.”

Through the fact report on plastic use, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) revealed on last year’s ‘World Environment Day,’ that 13 million tons of plastics are getting in the ocean, destroying biodiversity and damaging all humankind. The UNEP is advising the methods for producing, using and managing plastics, since the seriousness for plastic use have reached the critical level. Seeing the ASEZ WAO’s quick steps for taking care of this kind of global issue, their future steps are watched with keen interest.
