Currently, ASEZ WAO is running a campaign for Power Saving. Even the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) emphasizes power saving as one of the effective ways to reduce carbon and save energy in its 6th report. So today, I’ve compiled a few ways we can save energy at home.

1. Fill the freezer to full and the refrigerator to 60%.

It is better not to fill the refrigerator compartment completely to allow cold air to circulate, whereas it is better to fill the freezer compartment completely to prevent cold air from escaping.

2. Use the washing machine with cold water, a large amount at a time.

Since the number of uses is related to energy consumption for a washing machine, it is recommended to run a large amount at once. Furthermore, as 90% of the energy consumed to raise the temperature to hot water, washing with cold water is recommended to save energy.

3. Unplug the set-top box along with TV

Did you know that set-top box has the highest standby power among home appliances? It is said to be 10 times that of a large TV. So, whenever you go to work or go out for a long time, be sure to unplug the set-top box.

Killing two birds with one stone, saving money and energy! Let’s all put it into practice!
