A Global Commitment to End Plastic Pollution by 2040
Each year, the world produces nearly 400 million tons of plastic, much of which poses a serious threat to Earth’s ecosystems and human health. In response, the international community has adopted the Global Plastics Treaty, aiming to end plastic pollution by 2040. The active participation of young adult workers is crucial to realizing the structural changes this treaty envisions.
ASEZ WAO’s Initiative to Combat Plastic Pollution
Through the “Plastic-Free 2040 Campaign,” ASEZ WAO is leading global efforts to resolve the plastic pollution crisis. The campaign focuses on three key objectives: significantly reducing plastic usage, embracing eco-friendly alternatives in daily life, and promoting resource circulation. By encouraging people to Talk, Act, and build Partnerships, the campaign seeks to bring about meaningful environmental change worldwide.
▶ STEP 1. Talk
Where words gather, ideas take shape—and where ideas unite, people come together. ASEZ WAO raises awareness about the urgency of plastic pollution to inspire global citizens to join in action for the sake of Earth and humanity.
• Awareness Efforts: Street campaigns, environmental seminars, and forums
▶ STEP 2. Act
Every action sets off a ripple that can grow into a powerful wave of change. ASEZ WAO fosters lasting impact through practical efforts and daily engagement.
• Action Initiatives: Plastic-Free Challenge in workplaces, street cleanups, and more
► STEP 3. Partnership
Walking together takes us further. A single step by ten people can go farther than ten steps by one. ASEZ WAO builds solidarity across individuals, communities, companies, governments, and the international society to solve the plastic crisis together.
• Partnership Activities: Supporting signatures, conferences, and MOUs
▶ Goal: Change
When “my dream” becomes “our dream,” it turns into reality. Through the Plastic-Free 2040 Campaign, ASEZ WAO is speaking out, taking action, and building partnerships to realize the dream of a sustainable future for all life on Earth.
I hereby support ASEZ WAO Plastic-Free
