ASEZ WAO Nairobi and Mombasa Branches in Kenya Plant Mangrove Seedlings Along the Tudor River

On January 19, a total of 70 members from the ASEZ WAO (Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group of the World Mission Society Church of God) Nairobi and Mombasa branches in Kenya, along with members from South Korea, joined forces to create a “Mother’s Forest” along the Tudor Creek in the Jomvu area. Starting at 11:30 a.m., the volunteers spent three hours planting 1,000 mangrove seedlings, transforming the riverbank into a vibrant green space. Mangroves, which naturally grow along rivers and coastlines, have a carbon absorption capacity up to five times greater than tropical rainforests. Officials from National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) of Kenya and the Kenya Forest Service (KFS) also participated in the tree-planting, showing their support for the volunteers’ efforts. The day’s activity was featured in a news report by KTN, one of Kenya’s leading private broadcasting stations.
